As you can see through the above
thumbnail, this piece of chenille is different from the one we did
last time. Please check Chenille page for
comparison. Instead of using a piece of
cotton print fabric for the top layer, I made a fabric collage as our
top layer.
Developing a Chenille
The construction of this chenille is the same
as the one we did before. There is a piece of muslin as our
foundation. Then, we
add two layers of osnaburg to the muslin.
The top layer was made of several small
pieces of cotton. At first, we laid out cotton pieces on the
top of osnaburg. After we felt happy with the design, we have to pin
them to the bottom layers.
Then, we sew them together with straight stitch 45
degrees along the grain of fabrics. The sewing and cutting
methods are the same as the one from last time. Please check Chenille
page for reference.
