Success
The Society of Fellows is the leading
philanthropic group of The Huntington. Since 1973, the annual
contributions of its members have provided more than $28 million in the
operating support, helping the institution maintain the beauty of the gardens
and galleries, offer landmark exhibitions, and sustain a full range of research
and educational activities.
Fiscal
year 2004 marked the first time in the history of the Society of Fellows that
annual giving exceeded $3 million. The more than 550 individuals and
families that make up the Fellows contribute at a variety of levels. In
recognition of their support, Fellows enjoy a wide variety of special privileges
including early entry to the gardens, invitations to the popular Scholarly
Sustenance lecture series, and opportunities to participate in a travel program
led by The Huntington's principal officers and curators.
The
continuing support of the Society of Fellows is pivotal to the success of The
Huntington, and has helped make The Huntington one of the greatest research and
educational institutions in the world.
