Creative roads to landscape paintings

After doing paintings for a while, you might want to explore the various theoretical approaches from which masters created their arts and take up the same challenges those masters had to face.

Last summer artist, Sanchia Lin conducted a study of eight masters.  Through her study, she learned that each master had his or her own mastery.  For an example, the popular contemporary artist, David Hockney has consistently based his art directly on his experiences and on his relationship with other people.  He walks up and down the street a lot before he actually begins a piece of landscape painting.

In addition to David Hockey, we will also explore the other masters' philosophies, techniques, and experiences in painting landscapes.  You will learn what they're aiming to do and how they accomplished their goals.  One of the most helpful facets of these lessons is the paintings done by Sanchia Lin.  Those paintings are all derived from actual landscapes in her neighborhood.  Alongside the pictures of paintings, you can read how inspirations  from masters actually help to make her paintings glow and develop.
