Life and Hope

In the Memory

As a mixed medium artist, Sanchia Lin is always seeking a new art form to present her work.   In Dec. 2000, her acceptance of a sewing machine has expanded her style and working method.  In her case, it is as if the machine were a natural extension of the painting techniques and tools that she has always used.

Sanchia calls herself a re-interpreter of tradition, and this describes a method that she developed for her work.  She is interested in deepening and prolonging her immersion in the art of textile and in the culture behind it.   However, she wants to create a series of textile works with her own contemporary approach.

Therefore, instead of working with patterns, she uses a host of imaginative techniques to get the results that she wants. You can see through her works that Sanchia feels at home in the language of abstraction.  She believes that  abstract art is a way to communicate directly with the soul of the viewer.  She plans to explore this abstract world further in the future.
