Artist, Sanchia Lin has spent years developing her talent as an artist and experimenting with a variety of techniques.  She started with water based medium, such as watercolor and acrylic, then went on to pastel, oil paintings, collage, monotypes and fiber arts.

In Dec. 2000, her acceptance of a sewing machine has expanded her style and working method.  Through her extensive building process, she realizes that she is interested in creating a series of textile art works with her own contemporary approach.  She begins her work at background creation.  Then, she uses a host of imaginative techniques to get the results that she wants.  Each piece of her work is original and creative.  It is discovered through her own "artist within."   Her success depends upon her ability in applying inspiration, logic, intuition and common sense.

This showcase of her textile works represents her versatile style.  Sky, land, movement of water, birds, and human figures are her favorite subjects.  Sanchia is capable of working in an accomplished realist style.  She thinks that the basic painting and drawing skills are fundamental elements for her artistic development.  However, she enjoys doing nonobjective arts because she loves the freedom of self-expression provided by the creation of these works.
