About the Artist - Sanchia Lin

After the September 11th incident, Sanchia did a lot of thinking about how much we value freedom.  She also wondered about the price we pay for it.  Then, she realized that it is too difficult to find the answer.  Instead of thinking, she started to work on a series of art quilts.

This showcase of her textile works is her original design.  Her memory and inspiration from photographs are the foundation of her design.  Sanchia's textile arts are exuberantly colored and rich in surface textures.  These qualities come from a strong background in drawing and painting in life-like realism.

Sanchia's work has won many awards and are regularly displayed in areas galleries and international exhibitions such as New York Art Expo, Silk Painter International Teachers Art Show, Decor Gallery in Canada, All Media Juried Exhibition at the Art Center, Palos Verdes, California, and the Staff Art Show at the Los Angeles Museum of Art.
