Silk painting I | |
Creating a
piece of
silk painting is not so difficult as you think. All you have to do is
scatter a few beautiful colors across the silk. Then let it
dry.

If you would like to further develop your
silk painting into a more complex
designs such as the above silk painting, you might look into
Silk painting 1 for helpful suggestions.
To get started, you need the following
supplies:
. a piece of plain silk
. stretch bars to stretch silk
. some pushpins
. a few colors of silk paints-primary colors and night blue color
. 12 plastic cups for mixing colors
. a spray bottle with 70% Isopropyl rubbing alcohol
. some silk salt
. brushes and foam brushes
Before you start painting, use pushpins to
stretch silk onto the stretch bars. Then, mix the primary colors to
create a set of color-wheel for your painting. You also need to setup
a flat working area for your silk creation. Easel is not good for this
approach because you are going to work on a water color method-wet onto wet-for your silk painting.
