Still Museum Grows The planned Clyfford Still Museum, already set to become the most significant repository of the artist's work after the pledge of more than 2,000 works from his estate, has received an additional 400 pieces in a bequest from Still's widow. With a total of about 950 paintings and 1600 works on paper, the museum will house 91 percent of Still's oeuvre. After Still death in 1980, his second wife, Patricia, undertook what became a long search for a permanent home for his estate. In the past twenty-five years, Patricia displayed a devotion to the heritage of Clyfford. Everything that she had done was about preserving his memory and finding an appropriate place for the museum. Eventually, with her nephew Freed's encouragement, she settled on Denver about a year before her death. The museum is expected to open in 2009.
